How to dress for snowboarding?

Clothing for the slopes, especially among snowboarders, is a truly broad topic. It provides comfort and safety, and also highlights the wearer's character and individuality. It's worth knowing a few basic rules and guidelines that will help you choose not only the best-looking clothes but also ones that will keep you dry and warm. The most important pieces of snowboarding clothing are pants, a jacket, and thermal underwear. We'll cover these first. Then, it's time for the countless gadgets and accessories. Let's get started!

Snowboard pants should, above all, be waterproof. They're the ones most likely to come into contact with snow. The waterproofness of snowboard clothing is measured in millimeters of water column. What does this mean? It's the amount of water that the material won't let through. It's best to choose pants with a waterproof rating of 10,000 mm. This will ensure you won't get wet during winter riding. Other cool features include suspenders, waist and leg adjustments, or a system for attaching the pants to a jacket.

When it comes to a snowboard jacket, breathability is key. This is measured in grams per square meter. The minimum breathability is 5,000 g/m². In terms of breathability, zippered underarm vents are a good feature. Check if the jacket has enough pockets. Special pockets for goggles or a ski pass are very useful. A snow skirt, a zippered protection under the jacket that prevents snow from getting under your clothes, can also provide comfort. Snowboard jackets often include lightweight softshell jackets. However, we recommend classic snowboard jackets, which provide comfort, warmth, and hours of dry riding.

The final essential element of a rider's outfit is thermal underwear. A well-chosen jacket and pants will ensure you won't need anything else. Leggings and a long T-shirt will suffice. These clothes dry quickly and wick away moisture. This will prevent you from catching a cold, freezing, or boiling while riding. Check that your underwear has the right amount of stretch. Don't skimp. Also, make sure you wear professional socks made of breathable material. For colder days and higher altitudes, you might need a fleece or breathable sweatshirt from a good brand, but in most cases, high-quality thermal underwear will definitely suffice.

You've got all the essentials! Now you can browse endless accessories. Choose warm gloves, a bandana, a collar with an interesting print, or maybe a balaclava. Complete your outfit with protective gear that will make you feel safe. Remember! First, pay attention to the quality of the products, and from those with the right features, choose the ones you like best. After all, looking good on the slopes is also important. Good luck with your search!
