Snowboard glide equation
A snowboard wouldn't be the same without its base. What is a base? It's the element that comes into contact with the ground while riding. The base of a board is primarily responsible for the speed we can reach. There are several types of base in snowboards. An extruded base is relatively simpler to maintain, as it requires little attention and maintenance, but it doesn't allow for high speeds. A sintered base, on the other hand, requires regular waxing and is much more durable. For lovers of speed and thrills, the Electra base, made of top-quality materials, is perfect. It also requires regular waxing to maintain its properties.
Nobody wants to find out on the slopes that an uneven base is ruining or even preventing their fun. So, for board maintenance, turn to FunWind Snowboard Service. We have the specialized tools and knowledge to properly sand, wax, and even out the base of any snowboard model. We'll get your snowboard back to its former speed and power.
Sharpening the edges of a snowboard
Sharp edges on your snowboard are just as important as a good, well-maintained glide. If you're riding at high speeds and your board starts to lift off the ground during a turn, it means you need to sharpen your edges. Why is sharpening your snowboard edges so important? Because if your board lifts during turns, it increases the risk of serious falls, and therefore, injuries. And while falls are a part of the sport, they should be avoided whenever possible. Therefore, to ensure safe snowboarding, it's essential to sharpen your edges.
Sharpening snowboard edges without experience and knowledge can even damage your board. Don't risk it and leave this job to professionals. FunWind Snowboard Service has years of experience preparing boards for the slopes, which includes sharpening their edges. This process should be performed at least once a year to ensure perfect turns and stability on the snow.
Complementing the glide in snowboarding
After a full season of intense riding on the slopes, you may discover that your snowboard has lost its base. The base is essential for snowboarding because it determines the board's speed. Therefore, any loss in the base can slow down the board, effectively interrupting your fun. Any loss in the base should be repaired to ensure your snowboard is operating at its full potential.
FunWind Snowboard Service offers comprehensive snowboard base repair services. Our extensive knowledge of snowboard technology ensures a smooth and long-lasting process. We use only the highest quality fixes to repair imperfections. Modern equipment ensures high-quality repairs. Don't risk damaging your base with DIY repairs – entrust your board to the professionals at FunWind today.
Installing snowboard bindings
Every snowboarder's snowboard binding setup is unique. It all depends on personal preference, habits, comfort, and, of course, riding conditions and style. Binding angles and spacing vary. Mounting snowboard bindings to a board requires a certain amount of skill. Therefore, once you've chosen the perfect bindings for your boots and preferences, it's best to leave the installation to someone who knows what they're doing.
FunWind offers snowboard binding installation services for both traditional snowboards and splitboards. Our knowledge and experience in both binding installation and snowboarding itself means we can easily mount bindings on any type of board. Regardless of the brand or manufacturer, we ensure effective and durable binding installation. Furthermore, we will install bindings purchased from our FunWind store for you free of charge!
