The best snowboarding trails in Austria

Austria is a true European mecca for snowboarders. Anyone who hasn't experienced Tyrol from their board doesn't know what they're missing. If winter travel is on your New Year's Eve plans, be sure to add Austria and its snowy slopes to your list. You won't regret it! Why? Austria offers modern and well-equipped snow parks, fantastic weather, and fantastic accommodations that exude a wintery Alpine atmosphere. Here are the three best snowboarding spots in Austria, chosen by the Fun Wind team. Let's pack our bags!

SILVRETTA - ARENA ISCHGL

Ischgl (pronounced Iszgyl) is called a snowboarder's paradise ("Boarder's Paradise"). It's the largest registered snowboard fun park in Europe, offering a wealth of high-quality attractions, including 35 obstacles, such as variously shaped boxes and rails. It also boasts the popular halfpipe, which you might recognize from the World Championships, "The Tube." Ischgl also boasts a substantial quarterpipe. As you can see, it's a true paradise for those who enjoy snowpark fun. Many riders consider it the best snowboard resort in Europe.

INNSBRUCK

Innsbruck is a beautiful, charming town and the capital of Tyrol. It's famous for hosting the Winter Olympics twice (in 1964 and 1972). It's perfect not only for hitting the slopes but also for a romantic getaway with your significant other and strolling along the beautifully lit, snow-covered promenade. But let's get down to business! Innsbruck boasts over 250 km of trails, which together form the Olympia Skiworld ski carousel. Snowboarding fans will find progressive snow parks, boardercross areas, and off-road trails. It's also a great destination for beginners, as there are plenty of schools with highly qualified instructors. If you're looking to learn, Innsbruck is the place to go!

ST. ANTON

Saint Anthony is the patron saint of lost things, and it's in the western part of Austria, in St. Anton, that you'll find what you're looking for in many snowboarding resorts. It's one of the largest ski resorts in Austria. You can really get a lot out of a visit there. The slopes are wide and comfortable, and the place is less popular than Innsbruck, and therefore slightly less crowded. You'll find truly interesting and unique obstacles in the snow parks. St. Anton is also a paradise for freeriders. You'll find plenty of beautiful, picturesque places for off-piste skiing. We'll also add great parties and delicious food to the mix. Persuaded?
