SUP around Rządza (from the series "Rivers of Mazovia")
Another great spot for a short SUP-er trip less than an hour from the center of Warsaw is the Rządza River.
It flows into the Zegrze Reservoir in the town of Wolica.
On the section from Wolica to the bridge in Stare Załubice, the water is wide and clean, with almost no current, so you can easily swim against the current.
We started from the grassy parking lot near the bridge in Stare Załubice and sailed to Wolica and back.
The section to Wolica is wide and not very deep, but without any shallows, and you can sail safely on long fins.
There is almost no vegetation in the water, which cannot be said about the section from Stare Załubice towards Radzymin, which I checked the previous afternoon.
The shores are wild, the water is clean, we bathed several times.
I highly recommend it to beginners and families with children.
But also for a typical sports training, there is a nicer scenery than the concrete banks of the Żerań Port.
Despite a weekend of nice weather, both ways are less than an hour's drive from the city center.
Let the photos speak for themselves :-)
Practical information:
Equipment: boards of all types (for the section from Stare Załubice upstream, shorter boards with short fins, e.g. Allround boards from our rental company)
Be sure to take liquids on board as there is no shade anywhere.
Difficulty: easy
Logistics along the river: we did not use it (there and back route), but pickup near the bridge in Wolica is possible
